Tip #581

Make your choice between spacious and compact user interface layouts.

Do you prefer to give the buttons on the toolbars plenty of breathing room, or do you want them packed together nice and snug next to each other? As with most things in Vivaldi, you’re in control and can decide what works best for you.

To change the UI density:

  1. Go to Settings > Appearance > Window Appearance > User Interface Density.
  2. Choose between:
    • Regular i.e. the more spacious layout, and
    • Compact layout.

  1. Great! I love it. Just one request — a way to get square tabs, in both compact or regular density mode.

    1. Square or rounded tabs have always been a part of Themes and are still available, regardless of the density setting. You can try Themes like Subtle, Issuna, Human or Purple Rain (or download new ones from the Themes Gallery) with less rounded corners, or adjust the Corner Rounding setting of your current Theme in the Theme Editor.
